03/17/03 message from Betty:

Just stumbled across your terrific website last week! I've enjoyed the

stroll down memory lane -- pleasant memories of life in Vestal in the 50's

and 60's -- at the same time, saddened upon learning of those classmates

that are no longer with us.

I currently live near Charlotte, NC, with my husband, Michael, of 35+ years,

have two married 'children', three grandchildren, and several canine and

feline companions. I retired from the corporate world a couple of years

ago, ending a fulfilling 32-year career with IBM in NY, NC, and FL. My life

has since gone to the dogs ... literally! I now have the time to pursue my

passion for showing and breeding standard poodles, and participating in

therapy dog programs visiting disabled children and the elderly in local

nursing homes.

I'm sorry to say that I don't remember you. I co-op'ed at IBM during my

senior year and was unable to participate in any after-school activities --

not that I possessed any athletic, musical, or theatrical talent anyway. I

had a very small circle of close friends during high school and I have lost

touch with all but a couple of them over the years. Janet (Kelly) Powers

lives nearby in Lewisville, NC, and Mimi (Laird) Williams still lives in

Lake Zurich, IL. My cousin, Paul Waters, lives in Owego. We were neighbors

of Bob and Vonnie (Johnson) Brown and Glenn and Linda (Loeffler) Larnerd

until we moved from Vestal to Charlotte in 1979. The Brown's have since

moved to Ohio and visited us in Charlotte back in the early 80's. I

understand that the Larnerd's have since moved to Arizona and now live in

California.

Well, I believe I have 'spoken' more in this note than I had all throughout

high school, being the extremely shy and reserved 'girl' that I was back

then. I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with old friends at our 25th reunion

and understand that a 40-year reunion is brewing. Let me know if I can be

of any assistance!
