Not
long after graduation I ran into one of our teachers, sorry I do not have my
yearbook with me and I would not spell his name correctly, but he was one
of
the History teachers, anyway,
he did not remember me at first, then said; "Oh, you are
Charlie's sister". Most people remember Charles.
Must be he wasn't as shy and quite as I.

Yes,
I remember Charlie like it WAS yesterday.
We were very close neighbors...our families were intertwined for many
years, especially when we lived on
the
Old Vestal Rd.
During the summers we'd put on plays where ever we had "grown
ups" sitting around in the summer evening. Sometimes we'd get fancy and string a
sheet
across my basement and invite them to a real show.
His sisters were probably more involved in the singing and dancing
part of it, but to my recollection he was always close by to at least give us
"moral"
support.
He was probably more involved in the sleigh riding on their
"hill". Hope to see him
at one of the upcoming events.

Elaine
Foster Woloszyn is corresponding with May Parker who is in upstate NY working
for a counseling service. She's a widow now. Her twin brother
Charles
is married, lives in Georgia and has no children. (Charles and I had a class
together. .
He commented in my yearbook, "Dick Watch out for guys in white
Fords... one sure'nough will be me!" I've forgotten what the deal was
with white Fords,
he
must have been a car lover. You know us guys! We loved our cars and our
baseball! NOT!!!
Not me anyway... I could never get into cars or baseball!!! Give me
a good book and my imagination!!! I do like to watch football now...except
when the
Broncos
play.
Anyway, on Charles, sure wish we could get his address. I too
remember him as a real nice guy.)

Was
reading some from other class mates and I thought I'd ramble some about where
I've been and such…
Got out the old yearbook and seeing all the picture was pretty
jolting, was I ever that young, were you? Got to say Jimmy Krestalude hasn't
changed much,
must
have those 'Dick Clark' genes.
Anyway, while the yearbook had College under my name, it surely
wasn't what I had in mind, heck I didn't have anything in mind except getting
out of
school.
So, I hung around Vestal until my older sister goaded me into applying to SUC
Oneonta.
Started there in the spring of '66. Heck of a good time for the
next year and a half until I was invited not to return, some thought a 1.5 GPA
wasn't high
enough.
The summer of '67 was a watershed yr., as I made one of my first major adult
decisions,
join the Marines, see he world.
Along with Greg Pollak I enlisted on a delay program and enjoyed my
freedom until Sept. '67. when I was sent to PI to
become
Marine. Got training in aviation radio repair in San Diego and eventually
volunteered for

Vietnam.
I was young and stupid! After an abbreviated tour there, got out and went home
and reenrolled at Oneonta. Met a couple former classmates, Sue
Card
was one, and got a BA degree in psychology. Trying hard to figure out who I
was, still working
on it. In '75 took a job with the DOE in Watervliet, NY at the
arsenal in manufacturing cannons. Went from the manufacturing area to the
purchasing dept.
and
remained there until '79 when my wife, Elizabeth, whom I had met at Oneonta,
graduated from
RPI with an MS degree in Nuclear Engineering. From there we were
off. We stopped in CT, for nearly 5 yrs, where I became involved in TV
production. At
the
local access level. Moved to Oceanside, CA, another nuclear power plant area,
where I continued
in Access TV and managed a video store until '87. Elizabeth got
discouraged with management and decided another move would be good. So, drove
back
across
the states, and landed in Chattanooga , TN. I worked for a local NBC
affiliate, and she worked
for TVA. Downsizing
came in '88 and we landed in the Atlanta area in' 89 where we have been ever
since. Have worked some in TV and for Sam's club over
the
last 11 yrs. and am now working part-time for a private transportation
company. Elizabeth was

diagnosed
with Muscular Dystrophy in ''82 and now spends her days in a power wheelchair.
She works for CDC, and telecommutes. I am home with her
most
of the day and have my work schedule revolve around our needs. Over the years
I run in to very few
classmates. Saw Jackie Taylor way back in '77 or '78, when her
husband was stationed in the Watervliet area. I do mean saw her, it was at a
softball game
on
the arsenal. Last saw Dewey Quackenbush in '98, and spoke with Greg Pollak in
'96. Dewey is
in Endicott, Greg was in NC, working for Duke Power.
Was last home in '98, and while Vestal has changed its still home?
Wouldn't live there again, though as its in that area of the country where it
gets too
damn
cold for me. Give me a warm weather place like Atlanta or 'Diego and I'm
happy.

Rich,
as I have been a curious (read nosey) fellow all my life I enjoy reading our
classmates comments, and updates. I hope to get a photo in the snail mail,
but
it may not be for a while.

No,
the old white Ford was traded for a Studabaker, was my mother's car that I got
to use. Have since bought my own.
I would be glad to be entered into your database, and my
recollections are very hazy for that time period. School was ..., school, and
they made me go.
